Will cut willows from a floral arrangement grow roots in water? I have two different types of willows from a floral arrangement. They are budding and growing leaves. I removed them from the arrangement and put them in water. Will they grow roots? If so, can I plant them inside for now and plant them outside in the spring?
Fresh floral arrangement: Gel instead of water? I am making the floral arrangements/centerpieces for an upcoming party. I plan on using fresh flowers, but I'd like to place them in a gel rather than water. The reason is that I would like to place gold leaf in the gel so it will catch the candlelight and create a wonderful shimmer effect. After some Googling, all I can find is a gel for artificial or dried flowers. Any suggestions?
How much for a good sized floral arrangement for church altar? I'm planning my wedding, and I want some sort of real arrangement for the altar (2 of them, actually). I'm not planning on going through my church for this, but from a local florist. How much can I expect to pay per arrangement? I'm thinking maybe roses, but any royal or light blue flower would work.
I received a floral arrangement of tulips etc? I want to replant the bulbs? I received this beautiful arrangement of spring flowers after the birth of my daughter. I wanted to plant them in the yard for her. But I have no idea how to go about this. Do I cut down the old flowers and just plant the bulbs? Do I need to put them in a paper bag and put them in a cool dry place first? Any ideas? Can these be replanted?

Getting married in November, any floral arrangement ideas? We live in Texas and the garden we're renting for the event looks just BEAUTIFUL in November. I booked it not thinking about the limited fall floral selection. Our wedding party colors haven't been decided because I'm not sure what selection of boquets we'll have. Once we've found an arrangement - or even a flower... we'll have a better grasp of color. Everything's at a stand-still until then. Has anyone seen any pretty November florals? Or do you know of a website where I can browse flowers by season & state?
Question about a floral arrangement of tulips that I made!!!!? Hi! I'm very inexperienced in making floral arrangements, but I did one today for the first time (for Mother's Day). Anyway, it's of tulips (all tulips, as that's the only flower she's not allergic to), and I pulled off some of the leaves that were all cruddy and brown. Will that make the flowers die more quickly? I figured that the leaves were already dead, so taking them off wouldn't hurt. Not to mention, it looked horrible with the dead leaves. I also cut the flowers at an angle and put them in a vase. What I'm wondering is, what temperature of water do I put in? Do you put hot water (like a Christmas tree) or cold? Is there anything I should put in the water to make them last longer? Thank you sooooooo much! Immediate help is appreciated because she'll be home in like a half-hour. THANK YOU!
Besides floral arrangements, what else can I use can my centerpieces? I am getting married in April of 2010 and would some pretty yet inexpensive centerpiece ideas for my reception. If I don’t want to use a floral arrangement, what else can I use and how can I set them up on tables that are round, seating 10 people. Thanks very much for your suggestions.

How to get into designing floral arrangements professionally? I've over the past 2 years gained an interest in floral arrangements starting with when I was in school to be a wedding planner, and straight through having my own wedding. I was just wondering if you need to go to school for something like this and if so what kind of program should I be looking for? What kind of certifications/degree do I need? Any help would be appreciated. ***I don't want to just be doing this on my own. I'd like to work for a florist.

Anyone have any tips or instructions to designing floral arrangements? My sister is having a baby girl soon and I thought I could make a nice arrangement instead of buying an overpriced one. I am not sure if I am going to use a basket or vase. What would I need to use a basket to be sure it doesnt leak? Any ideas would be appreciated.... I am new to this!
Floral arrangement judging? I'm thinking about entering a flower arrangement in the fair this year. I was wondering if anyone knows from experience how the judges might judge the arrangements? Like what they would look for and all that jazz. P.s: I'm going to be doing a single flower arrangement with greenery.

Can anyone help with the history of floral table arrangements? A friend is doing a City and Guilds course in floral design, and needs to know the history of table arrangements. I've searched the net for info, but lots of searches seem to come up with summaries of books, and no real information. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!! Thanks!

Where do I learn how to design floral arrangements? I'd like to go to work in a flower shop and I have some natural talent for flower arrangements but I'd like to learn other thinks like doing funeral arrangements and other stuff. Where can I go to learn how to do flower arrangements like they would do in a flower shop?
How long is appropriate to keep funeral floral arrangements? My boss passed away and some people sent flowers to the workplace, how long should i leave them out before taking them down? I don't want to be disrespectful and take them down too early, then again don't want to be tacky and leave them out too long.
Homemade floral arrangement? To save money I would like to make my own floral arangements for my wedding with the help of my family and bridal party( they voluteered). Does anyone know of any good books or web sites that have how-to instructions? We are growing most of the flowers our selves.
