What is the decorative floral folk art painting style of the Czech Republic called? I'm referring to the type of painting that one would see on ceramic items, wooden decorative plates, and glassware. What would a person from the Czech Republic call it?

Need help with obtaining a very simple circular maze design...? I am doing a project for a floral art class and want to do what is called a Pave design in a flat, low, circular glass container. The design/maze lines will be outlined in greens in a circular maze design and the concentric rings will be filled with graduating colors of flowers/rocks/glass. I have been looking online for a good, simple circular maze that I can print out and use as a template for the design, but so far I have found little to help me. All of what I have found seems to be very complex and too detailed for my purpose, or I have found photographs that are taken from a standing point of view. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks so much!

If you have the book 'the goddess guide' by Gisele Scanlon, the designs really sum up what im after - that specific old wallpapery look, all swirly and floral sort of french or victorian. Hope ive described what I want without too much confusion, any good links to a collection of these designs would be ideal, but if you've seen one or two floating around that would be good! Why are florists paid so little? I recently finished my floral design courses and am quite discouraged by the starting wage employers are offering. I not expecting to get rich working within the industry, but the average wage so far is $8 hourly (CAN). I realize that one has to work their way up, but really who can live on that and be able to save for a rainy day. When you have paid alot of money to take the nessarry courses, where is the financial gratification in the long run? I make more money serving tables which is a no brainer. Floral design is an art and takes creative tallant to be good at what you do. Not that I would call myself an artist yet, I have a long way to go, but I know people who have been in the business a long time, and arn't nearly paid what they deserve. Any imput would be appreciated!

Psychedelic Art Car - Need Help with Interior Decorations? I'm creating a psychedelic art car for daily driving, and would like to put fake flowers on the interior roof so that passengers don't have to look up to ugly felt, but rather, to a pretty floral collage. However, what would be the most effective manner of doing this? With a hot glue gun? Spray adhesive? Sewing the flowers into the felt? I don't want to create something beautiful and then have it disintegrate in a month due to gravity. Thanks for your help! Well, the car is 10 years old and the headliner is perfect. It's too bad I couldn't afford some old 60s car, but with my pay, I can only purchase paint for my current piece :P

Does anyone have info on an Israeli artist, last name Peretz? I don't know his first name, but was told he only painted for people he knew and only painted a few dozen paintings. I have one of his paintings which is quite large 40" x 40" and is titled "Peaceful Moment" and is a floral impressionistic style painting primarily in blues. I was told he was 104 when he died (this may not be accurate) although I don't know when he died. I was told the painting was appraised in 1973, so the artist must be know in some art circles. His signature,which is only his last name, is in all caps in a block style. The frame which is original to the painting is ornate wood. I have searched the internet, but have not found any artist that fits the facts that I have on this artist.

I have an old oil painting that I bought in the early eighties at a? thrift shop, its a five by seven painting of flowers in a vase, on the back of it has a paper stapled on it that its from a W.T. Burger Co. with a 877 registry number, a frame number an order number with the name of the painting which is Floral and a 45.00 price, I called the company and the name on the front "Pucci" is not the artists real name, she lives in and studied somewhere in Sardinia where she is a renowned painter there and is still alive, they would not tell me anymore unless I gave them a fee, the frame alone is awesome, wood with alot of intirgite handwork, anyone know more information they can give me on this artist or her work, or where I could find out more about the painting and/or artist, I would appreciate it so much, This W T Burger states it deals with American & European original oils, watercolors, and Antique art since 1927, any your help would be appreciated, the name she signs her paintings with is E Pucci, thanks

Critique on Amateur Photos, Please!? I took some pictures today with my Canon Powershot SD1100 IS for a summer project to get me into AP Studio Art. Is it me or should parents support in whatever the child decides to do with their skin? I am 18 female who doesn't lie to my mother, never disrespects her. We have a brilliant relationship, we're more like sisters than mother - daughter. Now this is not a phase for me but for the past year i've become heavily interested in Body modification, i have several tattoos in coverable places that have significant meaning to me. Now i love the adrenaline rush that you get from a tattoo and i am in desperate need to get some new ink before i go on holiday in june. I am looking for a rib piece, mainly floral with a touch of new skool. Me and my mother have had several discussions, well arguments and everytime she comes out with 'if we were meant to have tattoos, we'd of been born with them'. I'd be a tattooist if it paid well, and i know that being an accounts assistant it's not really looked good upon if you're a piece of art. It's got to the point now where i dont want to disrespect her but it's for me not for her. what should i do?

Need to identify a type of art!!? Not sure if it is chinese, japanese, asian, or korean. I am looking for the name of the types of pictures that were popular a long time ago. It is where they convey the images through the outline only. Kinda similar to what they opened the Disney Mulan movies with. Also, if anyone can direct me to images of it that would be really helpful. Searching in particular for floral and bird images. Charts would be even better. need help with kitchen decor??? i recently installed a black slate counter-top in my kitchen as the first stage of a kitchen reno. my faucets are chrome and the sink is stainless-steel. the ceiling is made of metal embossed tiles but has been painted over numerous times (currently white). theres no room for a table and chairs but there is a small eating nook with a built-in bench on either side (I would like to upholster these benches--fabric ideas?) the walls are about 9' high. theres a 1 foot high baseboard and a large crown molding at the ceiling. the floor is a mid-brown (tobacco) colored hardwood which i dont want to cover. the cabinets are wood which has also been painted many times and are now a dingy beige color. (I believe they are the original cabinets). the house is a art-deco style circa 1922, so i would kind of like to be authentic to that style, but a few modern touches might be nice as well. I dont want anything fussy or cluttered or floral patterns. wall colors? cabinet colors? help ps: there is a 4-light mission style chandelier with square, upward-flaring shades. the light fixture is dark bronze and the shades are made of amber colored mica there are 2 windows, both very long and narrow. they have shutters on them now that go about 2/3 up the length of the widow. the top 1/3 is frosted glass panels. but i could remove these shutters if necessary, theyre painted an ugly beige

Henna...IS NOT A Temporary TATTOO!? does anyone get irritated as me,I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE SAY "TEMPORARY HENNA TATTOO".,,i had to write articles about this ancient exotic body art. its used in 60 countries for thousands of years..from the lacy or geometric patterns to the large beautiful floral designs...henna has always been part of traditional body art. henna is not anywhere near a tatoo,its not ink and it isnt permemant.....getting little squiggles on the hand is nothing. why people put henna in the same sentence as a tattoo..i dunno why..u people can explain that? explain it to me...i really wanna know why this ancient body art is associated with a tattoo? but if u speak to people of those cultures...including myself..its very irritating that people associate a traditional body art with a "tatoo"....tattooes are permenant and they use ink. its not a fashion accessory either, the way some people use it..its like theyre talking about the latest fashion accessory...nooo. one person asked "what is henna" contact me and i promise to give u a full detailed explanation. Lady H....that is inaccurate!! its temporary in that it lasts a couple of weeks....but some people get poisined from the ink of tattooes..and again, tattooes are permenant...in 20 years..do u want that butterfly or whatever animal it is on ur neck or wherever? Some airbrush painting advice/help? Im hosting an art show in like 4 to 5 months time and its more like a mixed media kind of show with all sorts paintings, pictures, pottery. Frog Bathroom decorating question? I'm currently decorating one of my bathrooms in frogs. The color scheme is yellow, green, and blue. So far I have all the bathroom accessories, the art for the walls, and some little knick knacks but I'm wondering what would look good over the top of the door. Right now there's a floral swag there that matches my previous bathroom decor. My question is this: would a bathroom decorated in frogs, look good with a blue and yellow floral swag or should I try to find another idea? True frogs and florals don't mix but the pattern on the shower curtain has lotus blossoms and lily pads. I'm looking for alternative ideas so if anyone has an idea, I'd really appreciate it.
