what classes would I be taking with the Penn Foster Career in interior design? I haven't finished my classes yet for Penn Foster High, but when I'm finished I'm planning on going on to their career college, and either I'll be going in to interior design or Floral design (which in my old high school I was in Horticulture, floral, and landscape). So what classes, and what would I be learning, so maybe I could get a head start. Thanks.
How does one become a florist and open a floral shop? So I want to know how do you become a florist? How do you go about opening your own shop? Finding a floral design school is few & far between. I've taken a few classes at my college and one at a florist shop (who by the way turned me down when I asked if they needed some extra help around the shop) My degree is in business and I did have to write a business plan however I feel like I just need more experience. If you actually own a floral shop, when did you decided you were experienced/good enough to go out on your own? What obstacles did you face? my business plan was not for a floral shop
Can someone help with a perfect back to school outfit? usually i am a fashionista and work whatever i wear, but i want someone else's point of view,so for the first day I was planning on wearing Abercrombie skinny jeans,a pretty Hollister tank with a floral design,a grant (dark brown, almost black) Juicy jacket and abercrombie and Fitch flip flops with a pink terry cloth daydreamer tote from juicy as my school tote, does that work? or do you have something better incorporating all of those brands?
How to get into designing floral arrangements professionally? I've over the past 2 years gained an interest in floral arrangements starting with when I was in school to be a wedding planner, and straight through having my own wedding. I was just wondering if you need to go to school for something like this and if so what kind of program should I be looking for? What kind of certifications/degree do I need? Any help would be appreciated. ***I don't want to just be doing this on my own. I'd like to work for a florist.
Using ADOBE products, How can I turn a pencil drawing into a graphical image? Which software to use? steps? I really need this answered so i can complete an informal design project for school. The only way for me to get my idea out there is to draw it out with my pencil and then somehow open it up in Illustrator or Photoshop and then make the lines smooth so it looks great as a graphical image. I will eb drawing a fairy as the center focal point of the design using floral designs all around her. The entire design will have the appearance of the fairy floating in the air with the florals behind her. It'll almost look like a tattoo design, but I need it to look graphical, not like a pencil sketch. Thanks.

is it too late? for me to start off in a new career direction? I just turned the big 4-0, and I'm enrolling in a floral design school. I know I have artistic ability and I've been in retail management my whole life. I'm just scared that I'm past my prime. What do you great P&S people think?

Does it sound like my dress is good enough for 8th grade promotion? The end of the school year is a while away, but I already have a dress. It's a few inches past knee-length and it's black. It has a pink floral design that fades away right before it reaches my stomach. It's a halter dress. I was wondering if it sounds good for 8th grade promotion.? If it sounds good, then what type of shoes should I wear? I don't mind wearing heels, as long as they aren't too high. Or should I wear flats? Thanks in advance. (:

High School. My 4 year plan. Will I make it into a good college? Scholarships? I know that this is probably way to soon to be worrying about this kind of stuff, I've been told that repeatedly. I just can't help it though. I really want to get into a good college and make my parents proud. I'd be the first on my mothers side to go to college straight out of high school. I'm just worried about the financial bit of college. The economy pretty much sucks and there's no way of knowing whether or not it will get better by the time I graduate. We're already struggling. I just really want to be able to save enough money and get a lot of good scholarships. I'm hoping that I'll get a full scholarship somewhere, but I have my doubts on that one. I'm not asking for sympathy. Just advice and feedback. Thank you in advance and please no rude answers. A job that's not hard to find work right out of school?? I'm having been trying to decide what field to go into! i can't decide what class to take! I have tried looking at medical billing, health record specialist, and floral design. All these jobs require 5 years experience, so how do you get the experience? Have any of you tried any of these fields, and how long did it take to find work? thanks..
Penn foster, ashworth or stratford? are any of these online school a scam? I just want to get a career diploma in floral design because there are no schools offering floral design in my area
School Supply question.? A few girls at school had a five star notefolio thing, it had a floral/vine design on it. They said they got it at Target, but when I search it I can't find it. I also checked the mead/fivestar website and its not there either. If anyone bought it or knows where they bought it, or has seen it, please tell me. They said it came in pink, purple, blue, and green. A notefolio is a binder with built in notebook and expandable file. It had plastic/rubber rings instead of metal.
What can I wear over printed, floral-y camis and tank tops? I bought a few of these for summer, in blue, green, purple, pink, etc. However, I'm not allowed to wear them to school this fall without something covering my shoulders, so what can I layer over them to make them acceptable to the dress code? I want to keep wearing these camis, they're super-cute!!!!!!!!!! P.S.- They're similar in design to the new ones with little ties in front from American Eagle-very floral. Whoops, I shoulda been more specific... I know the TYPES of things you guys are describing would look good (shrugs, open jackets, etc.), over most camis, but the prints on the camis make it hard to find something that looks good over them. Oh, and WHERE can I find cute shrugs that DON'T tie in the front?
High School Ceromony DRESS outfit. too much? for the honor ceremony i want to wear a normal dress, but i;m Muslim so i have to cover my body, so i was thinking... i wear a floral dress like this . http://www.target.com/Juniors-Xhilaration-Smocked-Top-Dress/dp/B001TIENWS/qid=1243885714/ref=br_1_4/186-2530346-8955113?ie=UTF8&node=1239013011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=1239013011&rank=salesrank&rh=&page=12 http://www.target.com/Juniors-Xhilaration-Smocked-Top-Dress/dp/B001TIENWS/qid=1243885714/ref=br_1_4/186-2530346-8955113?ie=UTF8&node=1239013011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=1239013011&rank=salesrank&rh=&page=12but it will defiantly have a floral design n then wear black tights and a dressy black shrug on top. do u think that would look good, esp the black tights but i;m Muslim so i HAVE to cover my legs. n e suggestions.
Does anyone else think this is ridiculous? At my high school you are required to have 25 credits to graduate. The required classes equal up to 22.5 credits. They require you to take ludicrous classes like "floral design" or " teen leadership" just to earn those credits to graduate...kind of stupid.
know of any cute sundresses or graduation dresses? searching for super cute, INEXPENSIVE sundresses. by inexpensive, i mean a maximum of $25 per dress. my favorite color is yellow. :] i like floral designs, but not super old-lady. i also like dresses with scenes along the hem. oh, and they'd have to be from an on-line store. :[ there are no good shopping centers here. thanks in advance! :] by the way, i'm graduating in two months. :D score for no more school!
first day of school outfit? ok should i wear my light wash dark wash or regular coloer jeans they are normal jeans and which shirt grey ae shirt (not polo) light greay ae shirt(same kind) a black graphis tee with rocker designs a light tan tanktop shirt with floral designs in white a thin striped light green tank shirt keep in mind i am asian and short and 15
Do you think my tattoos should be similar in style? I don't really know what you would call the different styles, but I have sort of an 'old school' looking skull on my ankle and a more 'new school' looking star design on my back. I want to get my next one on my thigh (opposite leg of the skull) of a floral desgin but since they are so different would it look funny to be able to see both at the same time? Hope this makes some sense, I'm not quite sure how to get out what i'm trying to say.
Health Care Career after degree in Agricultural Business? My entire life I grew up around animals, on a farm, joining the National FFA Organization. So when Senior year of high school came, it was no question what I would be going to college for... AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my major, but I'm having some major problems with my future. I'm worried that perhaps, I chose the wrong major (I'm thinking that I may have just chosen my major because it was in my comfort zone, and because I know nothing else) and I should just graduate with an associates instead of my planned bachelor's degree and then transfer to an unrelated major. I would really love to graduate with my bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business (and possibly an associates degree in something like Horticulture or Floral Design for kicks), and then go to graduate school for a career in Health Care. The job security and pay scale is what is most enticing (I'll have at least $60,000 in student loans). I'm interested in becoming an Xray Technician, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or possibly even a Therapist of some sort. I love helping people and the feeling of giving. So... what is a career that I could get, with a Master's degree that has a good payscale and excellent job security and also doesn't mind that my undergrad is in Agricultural Business?
I'm making a yearbook, I can't decide which design I should use? I love my class, I'm in the 11th grade and in two weeks I'll be 12th. We decide to print a special yearbook only for our class, not the official school yearbook for the whole year. You know what I mean? I just can't decide, I think floral grunge and vector will be good. What do you think? Do you think I can finish my yearbook in a week?

What College classes are neccisarry to become an ag teacher? i want to teach at the high school i go to, the ag. classes they offer are floral design, ag earth, ag bio, vet science, explorations in ag., ag leadership, and some other shop classes, i'm a sophomore, i've already taken ag bio, i 'm taking ag earth, and next year i'm going to take floral, vet science, and ag leadership, then my senior year, the shop classes, i want to take all the ag classes so it will help me in college, and when i'm teaching, also, when im the 1 of the advisors, i will be in charge of the students showing an animal, 1 teacher does, swine, and goats, another does sheep, rabbits, horses, and chickens, and the other does steers, and whatever else, i wanted to either take over swine, or help with it, so should i take some college courses on swine stuff, oh yeah, and i'm going to learn sign language in college, there are a lot of deaf/ hard of hearing students in the ffa, and none of the advisors know sign language, so that will be a plus, i wanted to take my general ed, at the junior college we have, and later transfer to a big ag school, or a school with a good ag program, these are the colleges i am considering, cal poly, and fresno state, again, what classes should i take in college?
Hi to all the keralites and malayalees out there? A little help with onam pookalam? Hai malayalees, ellaarkum ende namaskaaram. I am a 15 year old student and i have given my name for onam pookalam competition this time in my school. Anyone who is well expert in putting pookalams and designs can u give me some advice. For me designing a floral design is quite simple, but i am trying for a different stly like instead of drawing just flower designs, am thinking of drawing a child carrying flowers in his/ her palm. So if it's easy to draw it, i think its tough to decide it's colour combinations since it has to be decorated with flowers, right? So whats ur view about it? Can u suggest any websites that gives tips on pookallams, instead of showing just their photo pics. U can give ur won views and ideas and i will be greatful for it. And..forgot to say..am participating in a competition like this for the first time..so am not so expert in this. Soo..please please.......anyone who have great ideas.please contact me through yahoo answers itself. U can mail me any good website or suggest it here itself Thanx guys!
How do I tell my parents I want to quit college? I've been going to college for only a couple months now and I've hated it from the start. You see, I moved four hours away from my hometown to live with my fiance who is in the military and decided to attend college here. So far I have no friends and no one in the school has any interest to make any because they go with their high school friends. What I really want to do is get an online career diploma in floral design, which I've discussed with my mom and she seems to think it's absolutely ridiculous. She herself married young(I'm going to be married with my fiance the same age her and my dad were) she started school but then dropped out in the first semester and got a job at a hospital, now she's going back at the age of 40 and getting her nursing degree, don't get me wrong it's admirable but she's trying to control my life. How do I tell her I need to live my own life, not hers?
Aeropostale hoodie...? Okay, it's in like a cream color and it has like floral design things on it in brown, covering 1/3 of the sweatshirt, kinda like the top half. Is it like 'okay' for school? Like not too girly and stuff and 'normal'? Please I don't want a definition of your 'normal.' Or would it be safer with this hoodie? http://www.aeropostale.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2357178&cp=2284058.2540679&view=all&parentPage=family In the 'moon' color And plz specify which one you are referring to. This is for an 8th grade girl I know.
i'm asking this again...need more suggestions? This is the outfit I was planning on getting for school, and will most likely wear it on the first day. In the fall I start my first year of high school (I'm 14) and I really wanted to look cute. At first I was all about standing out, and being orignal, then I realized that's stupid. Nobody's gonna remember what i wore anyways, so why go out and wear something super spectacular? Plus (i know this sounds cheesy) its really my personality that will get people to notice me, and like me. I don't think i have to wear a completely stand-out-ish outfit to get people to like me.....So with that in mind, how do you like this outfit...? http://www.polyvore.com/first_day_school/set?id=10498388 should I get the shorts in pink or white? I was also planning on getting my nails done. Probably a french manicure on my fingers, and hot pink with a white floral design on my toes. My hair will probably be worn down. It'll be stick straight and shiny (with compliments to my hair stylist) I also have side bangs....Should I wear a headband, or just leave my hair as is? all comments and suggestions are welcome!! thanks so much! ( ~ 8* I am not trying to go all out and buy a super fantastic outfit. Geez people! whatever happened to personality. I'm just asking what colored shorts should i get, and if i should wear a headband, not if you would wear sweats the first day. I don't care what you guys wear!!!

Plus, its always pretty chiily at the high school due to the fact they run the air conditioning 24/7......
What should I do about my room? This year, I'll need to concentrate really hard on school because I almost failed last year. Plus I made a promise to myself that all throughout high school, I need to give it my all and get the grades I should be getting. And I want to redo my room because it's so dark and miserable. All I have is a bed, a TV, and a dresser. The walls have dark wood panels on them, and the carpet is navy/black with a light pink, tan, and green floral design. So my room is very dark and hard to concentrate in. The only place I have to sit is my bed. There are no chairs or anything, not even a desk. The only problem is, we're kind of stuck. We're supposed to be moving, but that could take a year, maybe less. When school starts, I'm gonna need a desk. I can't do my homework on my bed (it's somehow unhealthy) and I can't do it at the kitchen table (too many people there). I really have no alternative. So my real question is, should I redo my room to make it more welcoming and efficient? Or should I wait until we move, which may not happen for a while? If you think I should, what are some really cheap ways to improve it? Where can I get a cheap desk, preferably with shelves or lots of drawers? Thanks so much!!
Irritated with counselor... Ok, I am going to be a senior in high school this upcoming year. I just recently received my class schedule and I was unhappy with it so I emailed my counselor about it. I have never had a problem with this before. But this time he didn't answer for 6 days so I sent him another email asking whether he received my last email and I repeated my request. He emailed me almost an hour later and told me to talk to him once school started. The question I asked him was if he could please switch my 3rd period Art class to 5th period and my 5th period AP English class to 3rd period. It's really simple. I have a feeling he is going to ask me why I want the class periods switched and honestly I don't have another answer besides I want to be with my friends for at least one period. Honestly, if he did the switch, English would be the only class with my friends. Since I am going to be a senior this year I want to make the most of it. I don't think that answer would fly though so I need some help with better answers. What are some reasons to switch that I can tell my counselor that are better than the actual reason? p.s. this is the rest of my schedule if it helps: 0 - Homeroom 1 - Yearbook (has to be first period) 2- Art/His Floral Design 3 - Art 4 - Pre-Cal 5 - AP English 6 - Government Yes, AP english is offered both 3rd and 5th period. My friends have it 3rd and have it 5th, that's why I want it switched. There is only 1 AP English teacher.
Do You think that this is a good back to school shopping list? I'm going to start school shopping in approximately two more weeks. I love to be prepared, and I want to be sure of what I'm looking for, so I made a list of must have items for school in the fall. I'm starting 9th grade, and as a freshman in high school I really want to be fashionable. Ripped jeans and tees that say "HOLLISTER" are not my idea of fashion... Anyways, what do you think of this list? What other current trends am I missing that would be good to try? ~Plain V-Neck tees ~Patterned/Floral Print Dresses (Mostly considering above the knee. I hate long dresses) ~Thin/Gauzy Sweaters (For slightly cool weather; I live in NJ so the weather is pretty strange up here. It'll be sunny and 90 one day and rainy and 60 the next) ~Fitted Blazers ~Fitted Vests ~Graphic Tees/Tees with Sayings on them ~Button-Ups ~Statement Shoes (mostly ballet flats because high heels scare me!) ~Boots (Uggs, Booties, Western-Style Cowboy Boots) ~Gladiator Sandals ~Flowy, Bohemian-Inspired Tanks ~Plain Tanks ~Zippered Leggings/Metallic Leggings (not the type worn under skirts and dresses...I mean the type actually designed to wear as pants) ~Polo Tops ~Leather Jacket ~Skirts (Above knee, Jean mini's/patterned mini's/floral printed) ~Tote Bag(s) ~Clutch Purse/Wristlet ~Embellished Hair Accessories (Headbands/Hair Clips/Hats) ~Tennis Shoes/Sneakers ~Make-Up in Neutral Tones (Brown, Beige, Subtle Golds and Greys, Light Pinks and Peaches) ~Sequined Anything (Tops/Pants/Shoes/Acessories) ~Pencil Skirts (Above knee of course) So, what do you think? Do I pretty much have all I need? All comments and suggestions are appreciated! Thanks so much! ( ~ 8*

Can A person survive on the fluctuation of commision and tips as a Cosmotologist and a Esthetician combined? Hello Everyone. I am a 43 single still woman with two dogs who has tried it all pretty much.. in ways of work. I even attempted to go to College twice with no much luck. I had given Paralegal a wurl too. I am since a little girl a very creative artistic person. My Ultimate extreme goal is to become either a best selling author or.. a painter. I knew this since I was about 10 .. however had no help or support from family. I was an A student and could have gotten scholarships in the arts. Now.. at 43.. I am stuck at a dead end job, working because of gas prices and barely...making ends just meet, with no extra spending money for even clothes. I want to better myself. The media that I hear constantly keeps encouragin nursing. I have a good friend who is a RN and super stressed out over her career. I also read the blogs on all nuses .com and many sadly go into this feel for the security and money and admit to that on the blog. Many are complaining of burn out and injuries. I am not a good person with the elderly and I am not all that compassionate to be honest. I am passionate about art and dogs/animals. I decided.. or.. so.. I thought... to go to an Aveda School for cosmetology that will take me 11 months to complete then go for esthetician which will be an extra 4-5 months. I would then be qualified to do it all.. Hair, nails and skin care. I am just worried that although this would be creative and artistic.. that it would require me to compete with the younger gals who dress trendy and I never have. I also am worried about finances. Although .. they both bring in tips you must get and maintain clients and then eventually you will get a comission of 30-45 percent. I called a Aveda salon and owner said one gal is making 50 grand but.. this must fluctuate with the commisions and tips. I suppose.. I am not use to living on a flexible fluctuating pay scale. I may be able to eventually down the line maintain a liscense to work out of my home to do it that way too.. Aveda for those who are unfamiliar is a Hollistic organic botanicals uses to formualte their product line. I was worried also about aging in that field. Mabe.. I am worrying for nothing or too much. I also.. plan to for sure.. go there after.. to a county college for 8 months to get a certificate in floral design. The woman who teaches the class gets in leads there too. But.. I must do the later first . Cosmetology offers flexibility and you can pencil yourself in. I can then .. do both creative fields. This will enable me to leave my jobs behind when I leave them.. and concentrate on some writing coorespondence school that I plan to take.. and any other on line or off writing and art classes. Now.. that I said all that.. LOL .. I think.. I may be okay. Hey.. if I break into the writing or art area that is my childhood life long dream.. then all else can go away.. if the money follows. By the way.. all above is me and what I love to do. I want to be able to pay the rent, all my bills and car expenses and feed the dogs. I also.. want to not have to worry so.. much and often about money as I have my whole life been very very poor. I dont remeber the last time I bought undies or clothes. If I do.. I go to good will. I also want to be able to have a clear head to pursue my dreams later on. I heard the cosmetology boards are hard to pass. Not sure though. I also love flowers and colors of all sorts. I am not a glamour girl by far. But.. I can learn to dress nice. I never had the money to do so.. or incentive. Any encourgement will be appreciated. Thank You All. Ohh and I just stretched a ligament in my hip and have to have physical therapy before work. Am on light duty. And bag groceries for now. How sad!

Please help me with this...? “Kring! Kring!” That was the sound of my clock that woke me from my dream, the strangest dream I ever had. Well, I think it’s strange because all I can see is bright light. And the stranger part is that this dream of mine gave me mixed emotions. I felt sad, happy and surprised. I don’t understand why did that dream gave me such feelings. I kept on thinking why. My head is busy thinking when somebody called my name. “Lillianne? Honey! Get down in here! It’s time for breakfast!” It was my mom, Lisa. She is the only parent I knew. My dad died from a plane crash when I was still a little baby. I never seen him before but I sure do miss him. I came down to the stairs for breakfast. I’m still busy thinking about my dream. I’m so busy thinking that I slipped on the stairs. “Ouch!” “Lillianne! Are you fine my dear?” “Well, yes mom, don’t worry I just slipped. No big deal.” “You’re such a clumsy girl. Be more careful next time.” “I will mom.” Well, I really am clumsy. Not just clumsy but I’m also a bad luck magnet. It seems like every move I make, something bad gotta happen. My mom assisted me until we reached the kitchen. The dream still invades my mind. I almost spilled the milk as I pour it on my cereal. I went upstairs as I finish my breakfast. I put on my favorite blouse. It was black in color and with floral designs on the right side. I paired it up with a white jacket and jeans. I always wear jacket since its cold here in Anderson. Now, I’m ready for school. I’m already in junior high school. ####################################### well, i know it sounds like trash, please help me improve, what do i do? what can i do to make it sound more interesting :-) thanks and by the way, is weaverville, trinity a good place for setting? thanks

What type of shoes should I wear with this dress/to this dance -explaination inside-? In a few months I have a school dance (not a prom), the first "wear a dress" one that I've gone to. According to my friend who is older than me and has gone to this dance before, girls really dress up......nice shoes, dress, make-up, up-dos, ect....but not as dressy as a prom. Well, I found a halter dress that goes just past the knee, has a small amount of barely noticable netting at the bottom, and is white with a floral (but not grandma floral) brown and salmon design, and a segment in the upper middle area is brown. The dress itself is fine, but what shoes should I wear with it? I found shoes here: http://www.kohls.com/products/product_page_vanilla3.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=419040071&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=429119337&bmUID=1174849040503 (it's the brown one that there isn't a picture of) but I have a few questions. One are they reasonable/dressy enough for a dance? I can walk in them fine, and they match the dress. Also, what other shoes might you reccomend? heel height/style/ect One More question: What type of jewlery? Do halter dresses need necklaces? Bracelet? I'm pretty clueless.

What College classes are neccisarry to become an ag teacher? i want to teach at the high school i go to, the ag. classes they offer are floral design, ag earth, ag bio, vet science, explorations in ag., ag leadership, and some other shop classes, i'm a sophomore, i've already taken ag bio, i 'm taking ag earth, and next year i'm going to take floral, vet science, and ag leadership, then my senior year, the shop classes, i want to take all the ag classes so it will help me in college, and when i'm teaching, also, when im the 1 of the advisors, i will be in charge of the students showing an animal, 1 teacher does, swine, and goats, another does sheep, rabbits, horses, and chickens, and the other does steers, and whatever else, i wanted to either take over swine, or help with it, so should i take some college courses on swine stuff, oh yeah, and i'm going to learn sign language in college, there are a lot of deaf/ hard of hearing students in the ffa, and none of the advisors know sign language, so that will be a plus, i wanted to take my general ed, at the junior college we have, and later transfer to a big ag school, or a school with a good ag program, these are the colleges i am considering, cal poly, and fresno state, again, what classes should i take in college? so what if my question is 1 long run-on sentence, you can stfu, i take PRE-Ap English, i will be taking AP next year, i didnt feel like getting all grammatically coorect, or capitalizing! i'm from Ca if that helps?
