Floral delivery!? Does anyone do this for a living? Do you like it? How much do you get paid? Is it very phsyically demanding?
Do I have to tip the floral delivery person? My sister sent me flowers as part of my early bday present today(My bday's in May & she does this every year). When I took the arrangement from the delivery lady, she hung around for about 20-30 seconds, waiting, I presume, for a tip. Is this now common to tip the floral delivery people? I thanked her for the delivery & said to tell the designer of my arrangement thanks for the gorgeous arrangement. Should I have given her a tip?
How much are you supposed to tip a floral delivery agent? What if you don't even want the flowers? I recently had this happen to me. I was being stalked and I did not want to accept flowers from some creepy weirdo. But I appreciate customer service and I did not think it was fair for the delivery guy not to be tipped.. and yet I wasn't sure whether to tip at all? Help.. Thank you, but how are you supposed to know what 10% is when you don't know the price of the flowers? Is there a general way of estimating this?
Help For Floral Delivery Company Please? I would like some help on how to deliver flowers on bikes. We have a £100 budget to work with (we already have the bikes.). Could you please give suggestions on whether we should use panniers or bags to carry the flowers. Also, could you give us general suggestions on how we could expand and advice for people who have experience in the field.
What is the best way to send someone a rose delivery internationally? I would like to send roses to my girlfriend in Mexico but the big name floral companies charge a fortune. Is there a cheaper way to arrange a flower delivery to her home there? The reason that cost is an issue is that I am in college and am thus tight on funds at the moment....
Sending flowers same day delivery in San Diego? One of my friends recently had surgery and she'll be in the hospital for a few days. I won't be able to fly out to see her so I want to send her a nice floral arrangement to cheer her up. Any suggestions on the kind of flowers I should send her?
Do you tip someone who delivers you flowers? I was reading an article on tipping and it said to tip a floral delivery person a few dollars. I've never done that. I might not have any cash on hand. Since it's an unexpected delivery and I wasn't the one who ordered them, why would I be expected to tip?
Why can't my disabled husband get a permanent job? I have a husband with MS. He can work part time doing some tasks. Nothing that requires lifting or moving of items. He was recently hired at a local "edible arrangement" store. He was a professional chef prior to his diagonsis and this was perfect. He was hred to help over "mother's day". He worked mess of hours and whent he holiday passed the owner said " I will call you next week with hours for you." My poor husband clung to those words and he called this shop many times.. since mother's day.. Not to ever have recieved any more work from them. He had applied online for floral delivery jobs.. nothing. He has applied at other Edible Arrangments.. NOTHING. He has even applied at a local car dealership. NOTHING. ALL OF THE ABOVE JOBS WERE LISTED AS HAVING OPENINGS AND WHEN HE APPLIED HE VERIFIED THEY WERE HIRING. My spouse walks with a slight limp and his resume reflects a number of years of not working, but he did recently add his 2 weeks work experience at Edible Arrengements. Please do not tell me to have him fill out surveys online. It is not worth our time. Can anyone give me some insight on why he can't get an interview and any other resources?
What happens if the recipient is not home when flowers are being delivered to her home? I ordered flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend at her house today. She has been sick and down in the dumps. Well today she ended up feeling worse, so she went to the Emergency Room to get checked out, and I'm guessing nobody will be home for the rest of the evening (at least until after the floral shop closes). Will they attempt delivery tomorrow? How does it work.

Where can I find Starburst Lilies online for delivery? A friend's favorite flowers are Starburst Lilies (I personally have never heard of them). She is going through a very difficult time right now and I wished to send her some flowers, but I cannot find Starburst Lilies anywhere online. Do these particular flowers go by another name perhaps? I cannot imagine large florists such as FTD not even carrying them. I am not a flower person, so any experts who can help; you would be brightening a very good friend's day (which she definitely needs at the moment). Thank you in advance! Oh and I must be able to order them from an online floral company such as the one mentioned above (FTD) or others like FTD (Teleflora, 1-800-flowers, etc), preferably those who offer same day delivery.

Poll: For ladies only. No men please.? This question is about floral deliveries. I deliver flowers for a living. One of my duties is dilivering flowers to funeral homes. I will say this, every funeral home I deliver too has a room for flower deliveries for funerals that also doubles as a place where they place the decease until cremation and/or services. They are usually nude and covered with a sheet over them. I have seen many other delivery men from other flower shops sneek a peek at the female deseased bodies. So here is the poll. Have you ever worried about how you will be judged by floral delivery men after you are deceased?

Pic in side In law holiday gift was ruined by the worst online retailer. What do we do now? My husband and I are living in California, his parents are living in Colorado. This year, we decided to send my in laws a nice Christmas center piece from a supposedly reputable online floral shop. When I click on the photo of the item that I wanted to purchase, there was a drop down menu asked me about the recipient's zip code, and the desirable delivery date. So I put 12 / 24 / 2008. To my surprise, my credit card was charged (not authorized, but charged) right away without any delay. On 12/24/2008 2 o'clock in the afternoon, I received an email indicating the item couldn't be delivered on that date because the local florist was not working. I called them immediately, had to go through 4 people to reach a supervisor, and she promised me a 30% credit on my credit card and item redelivery the day after Christmas. Today, I got another email from them saying the item is no longer available and I have to choose an alternative item. So I called them back and chose another item, You know what they told me? They told me they would do their best to send my in law the exact same thing. LOOK AT WHAT I GOT The pic on their website looks like this http://s351.photobucket.com/albums/q447/lilyflowers_2008/?action=view¤t=flower.jpg The pic of the item that I received look like this: http://s351.photobucket.com/albums/q447/lilyflowers_2008/?action=view¤t=flower2.jpg I called and let them know the item looks not even close to what they advertised, but now, they told me it looks very similar to what I ordered, and they refused to give me my money back. If this is not fraud, I don't know what is. What do you think? thank you in advance. PS. The gift is for my in laws, they are both 75 years old, how many Christmas do they have left with us? My husband is furious. What do we do now at this point? Should we just let it go? The thing really bothers me is that the item looks like funeral floral arrangement, it does not look happy at all. Do you have any suggestions for us? Should we call our parents to apologize, or should we just let it go

Is this a good deal for wedding flowers? I will be getting married in august of this year in southern california's Ventura county. I recently went to speak to a florist and was wondering what everyone thinks about the package and price she gave me. I am not really sure what average flower costs are so I just need a little help. My colors are burgundy and champagne/cream with gold accenting. Therefore, she told me My arrangements would be made using mostly black magic roses, freedom roses, charlotte and spray roses as well as cream colored vendelas, hydrangea, and lisianthus for softness. My package will include my hand tied bouquet in burgundy colors and 5 bridesmaids in the creams. A thorw bouquet for me. A floral decorated basket and flower petals for the flower girl. A boutonniere for my ring bearer. One grooms boutonniere that will match my bouquet. 5 more for the groomsmen to match the bridesmaids. Two for the fathers and three more for the grandfathers. 2 pin-on corsages for our grandmothers and two posey bouquets for our mothers. I will get a a big floral decorated wrought iron arch for the ceremony as well as 8 wrought iron stands with arrangements on top for both sides down the aisle, plus scattered petal along the borders. 16 tall cylinder vase centerpieces for the reception and different bigger arrangements for my head table. And finally, the flower decor that will be used on my cake. Holiday online shopping nightmare!!! How can business do such a thing to customer? They said they would do their best to send me the item on their website but they cannot guarantee it looks exactly the same!!! I told them "Your operation is ridiculous at best, it was extremely tacky to send a Christmas gift after Christmas, and why do you advertise something you do not even have?!" And the woman told me "to be completely honest with you, my parents would be happy either way, gift or not gift. Of course we have to bill your credit card, we have to know there is money in it. and you have to know that florists are independently owned, sometimes, they run out of certain items, that is why stuff is not going to look exactly the same" I am completely blown away by the way this company treated customer, I honestly believe they are running a fraudulent business. What do you think? thank you in advance. I would love to give you guys the website of their business, PLEASE Do not order from them. but maybe YA will remove my question. www.teleflora.com
Who here would like to be on the show Wife Swap with my husband and I? I'm looking for another couple to swap spouses with for the show Wife Swap. About us: My husband Herman, is vertically challenged, or what some may refer to as a 'tiny midget'.... Me, I prefer to be called horizontally challenged... or some people refer to me as 'curvy' or 'big boned', someone once used the f-a-t word... but I don't think they really meant it. Our daily routine / marriage life usually consists of me spending the day on my cozy floral printed chair that I've put directly in front of the TV, with 2 dining room tables on each side for my snacks. Herman spends the day in the kitchen mostly, or on the phone with several different food delivery companies, or outside jumping on his trampoline with his pet llama, Al.... besides that, we are a fun loving couple looking to get famous and swap spouses... If you are interested, please answer with some information about you and your spouse and hopefully we can find a good match and go on TV and get famous together. Any applicants?
Where can I find rural mailbox with double doors on it, that is not expensive!? Looking for a standard-looking rural mail delivery box, that has a back door on it. Friend suggested I try this so I don't have to step into our busy street to get the mail. This way I would open the BACKSIDE of the mailbox to collect the mail. So far I have found 2 links, but they are both for very expensive mailboxes ($200 to $300 range). Does anyone know where I can get one that costs under $100? Serious replies only. Thank you. PS Here are the two links I have been looking at to give you a better idea: http://www.steelmailbox.com/ (part way down page): "The Floral Mailbox is available in a Two-Door version which is ideal for those concerned with road safety while retrieving mail. The Double Door offers the option of retrieving mail from the rear instead of having to go into the street." And here's one on ebay, looks perfect, but too expensive: http://cgi.ebay.com/HEAVY-DUTY-RURAL-DOUBLE-DOOR-STANDARD-SIZE-MAILBOX_W0QQitemZ270000384788QQcmdZViewItem
How much SHOULD I be earning an hour? I work as a Professional Floral Designer. I have a degree in Horticulture and 10+ years work experience. My work experience includes but is not limited to:(this is what I do every day) Designing/arranging fresh cut and silk flowers per customer order; answering phones; waiting on customers; plant care (watering etc); processing fresh cuts when they first come in, cleaning and basic shop up-keep; occasional delivery, some basic computer work; ordering some product from wholesalers (not too often though..) and managing the shop when the boss isn't here...which seems like most of the time......I am her only employee and get $8.10/ hour...am I getting screwed or what? If she gives me a raise, she cuts back the number of hours I work. Oh, I live in Central NY State....not near the city My degree has everything to do with my job..I specialized in floral design..that was my main focus area in college...everything else was just a bonus....(like the greenhouse mngmnt courses...)
If no one saw the flowers did they exist? I spent $170 on a floral spray for a loved relative who's funeral I could not attend. I placed the order with the florist recommended by the funeral home and they seemed very accommodating. After speaking with most of the relatives who did attend the funeral, nobody recalls seeing these flowers or my card. I called the florist and they later told me they had the receipt and the delivery driver specifically remembers delivering them. I'm not a wealthy woman and the flowers being there meant a lot to me. I don't want to hurt the florist financially if they did what I paid them to do, but don't I deserve some sort of refund if they didn't? This is all the information I have, so I have to make a decision based on what I've written. I'm considering filing an investigation request with my credit card company to have the charges reversed.
I need some general ideas please? Sarah’s Flower Designs is a fledgling, home-based business in Madison, Wisconsin, consisting of three employees. Sarah, the owner, handles all of the floral arrangements. Her assistant, Mark, handles the purchasing of flowers, related materials, and takes telephone and walk-in orders from customers. Mark also keeps the financial and client records in order. Kim is the delivery driver and makes local deliveries to homes and businesses. Sarah’s Flower Designs is looking to upgrade its computer system (an older model PC) to help keep up with the growing demand of their customers. They would like to house their client information and order histories on their new system, as well as bill their customers electronically. They also want Kim to have a way to keep track of customer addresses and specific delivery instructions while she is on the road. What IT recommendations would you make for Sarah’s Flower Designs?
Can someone rate my story? I've been working on a story that's been sitting around on my computer and I was wondering if anyone would give me some insight that I need to improve on? Vampire Angel Chapter 1 Far away in a land that lay high up in the clouds, lived a small girl and her mother. The village that they both lived in was lined up row by row, leading up the hill into the town square. In the center of the town square was a marble colored water fountain. A small girl about the age of eight, was always seen in the square doing community service. Like helping with the bakery by delivery bread to the villagers, or picking up trash around the village. The night sky glowed a dark blue by twinkling stars. The air was cold and smelled like the rain. The girl headed up the cobblestone hill and into a blue two-story house. The house had a garden covering the front porch, and a huge oak tree on the side of the house. In the backyard was a white floral swinging bench, and a dusty trail that leads into the forest. Inside the house, the girl’s mother was tucking in her daughter. The room was colored lemon yellow, with the bed across from the door. The window was across from the bed next to a oak-colored cabinet; it was covered with pink curtains. The room had a welcoming and warm feeling when you walk inside. “There. Nice and snug.“ said the girl’s mother, as she finished tucking in her daughter. Her chestnut hair fell over her shoulder as she sat on the red-and-white polka-dotted bed covers. “Mommy, can you sing me a lullaby?” asked the girl, her blue eyes glowing hopefully. “Okay, Kaori.” replied the mother as she looked out the window with a content look. The little girl hugged her stuffed cat toy closely as she started to sleep. Her mother sang, her voice warm and heavenly. ♪Who are those little girls in pain Just trapped in castle of dark side of moon Twelve of them shining bright in vain Like flowers that blossom just once in years They're dancing in the shadow Like whispers of love Just dreaming of a place Where they're free as dove They've never been allowed To love in this cursed cage It's only the fairy tale they believe♪ Kaori's mother walked over to the window, pulled away the curtains, and opened the window a creak. She looked up toward the sky and whispered, “It won't be long until they arrive.” She then walked over to the cabinet and opened the top drawer. She dug through it until she pulled out a silver necklace with a matching silver ring pendant attached. Engraved on the ring in small print was, 'I will always and forever love you, my beautiful Anika. Love Teshiro.' “I know you're always watching over us.” said Anika as she raked a hand through her hair; her glimmering sapphire eyes started to tear up. She wiped them away with the back of her free hand, and went back to the window. There something had caught her attention, three figures walking up the path. Each one emitting their own dark aura. Anika watched them carefully, and suddenly noticed that one of them in particular had chestnut brown hair and red eyes. He was the 2nd tallest compared to the other guy next to him. On the other hand, the one on his left was kinda short by about an inch or so. Her eyes widened as she stumbled back away from the window as quickly as possible. The brown haired person caught onto the sound and looked up toward the window. Anika's breath grew shallow and quick as she backed up against the closet, and huddled into a small ball. Sweat formed on her face as she hoped they didn't spotted her. Her blue eyes darted over to her daughter's sleeping form. The older man nugded the boy next to him, “Is there something wrong, Kuri?” The boy now known as Kuri, shifted his gaze from the window to his comrade and shrugged, “It was nothing, I guess.” The smaller one lifted up his hand to adjust his hood. An evil smile crept on his face, revealing two white fangs. “Well, we could go check it out, just to be sure.” he said. The small one next to Kuri pulled back his hood, leaving some strands of blonde hair sticking upward. His green eyes went over to the largest member and he said, “It would be best if we just keep going. Master Shiro wouldn't be happy with us if we caused trouble, and if we decide to do so would result in Vampire hunters coming after us.” He scanned the area, sniffed the air, and added, “I can smell some of them just a few miles away.” “You're just imagining things. There's no way that a Vampire hunter can get all the way up here!” the taller one snapped, his red eyes glaring at the younger boy. He then added, “And even if one of them got up here, I'll just tear them to shreds and maybe suck their blood while I'm at it.” He licked his lips and brushed a few strands of black hair from his face. Meanwhile, in the Kaori household, Anika had called out her Heaven Staff and had Kaori in her arms. She went down the stairs and toward the door, stopped midway, turned around a
