Would it look weird to have Indian style Mehndi hand decorations for a western wedding? wedding RSVP post cards ? I'm trying to find unique things include in my wedding. Many wedding sites I've seen suggest post cards rather than traditional cards and envelopes to cut down on both mailing costs and paper. I don't really see how mailing would be less with a post card, but the idea of less paper appeals to me. I was just wondering how the YA Engagements and Wedding crowed felt about post cards as reply cards. Do you think guests would embrace the idea as different or unique? OR do you think guests wouldn't like it because their reply wouldn't be hidden by an envelopes? I'm also curious as to how these post cards should look. I see them suggested all over the web but I can't seem to find any examples on how to make them or what should be included on them. Any suggestions? I was thinking just a simple wedding cake or floral design on the front nothing too fancy that guests may want it as a keepsake. And on the inside have a check box for not attending and a check box for attending and number of guests. and a space for a note if they want to send a note along with the card. My Fiance wants guests to call us or email us rather than send reply cards. ( he's a computer tech so he's all about the technology) he's not a fan of traditional reply cards so we're trying to find a creative way to tie in what both of us want and keep some wedding tradition still tied in there.

Did you surprise yourself with the wedding dress you ended up choosing? Once you tried it on? I tried on several dresses today, and I ended up with a light ivory one that is gorgeous. I never thought I would go with ivory, but it just looked so good with my complexion and hair. The style is modern and beautiful, and it is an A-line design. I have decided on shades of green and ivory / white for our wedding colors. Should I only stick with ivory and green shades in the floral arrangements, or can you add a litlle brighter whites in there too?

What would you accessorize a black dress with for a wedding? I am going to a wedding in Feb next year and there will definately be snow or slush on the ground as I live in Finland. I have the black ribbon dress from Monsoon which has a corset and a full 50s style calf length net skirt with a floral ribbon design all over. It has loops on the waist to add a ribbon belt. As it will be cold I also have a nice Laura Ashley back wool coat to wear outside and it has flecks in the wool which sparkle and catch the light. Unique white gold wedding band? I'm having trouble finding a unique women's white gold wedding band. I'd like something that has an antique style or something with an etched design (maybe floral, with vines, or along those lines, but not celtic). Probably nothing with any diamonds or gemstones. After your father walks you down the aisle, just before he turns to leave you and take his seat, remove one of the special flowers from your bouquet. Hand it to him and give him a kiss. Let him know in advance that this will take place and tell him that as he takes his seat in the pew with your mother, he is to present the flower to her on your behalf. Then at the conclusion of the ceremony, as you begin to make your way back up the aisle as husband and wife, stop at the pew where your mother-in-law is seated. Remove the second special flower from your bouquet and present it to her, along with a kiss, before continuing up the aisle. Don't tell the moms in advance that this will be taking place! It is the element of surprise which helps to make this so very sweet and special. There will not be a dry eye in the room...

Can do a Local venue for around $6,000 and will also have to supply my own caterer, wedding cake, DJ, floral arrangements, etc. not as beautiful and spacious closer to home so guests will only have to travel about 5-10 miles can do on a Saturday probably won't have to make a loan with the bank OR southern oaks plantation for around $12,000 only have to buy cake and get florist to design bouquets and boutonnieres 100% more beautiful this is what I really want out of town, guests would have to travel about 50 miles probably will do on a Friday night instead because Saturday is even more expensive and harder to book catering, attendants, DJ, unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are provided includes horse and carriage and fireworks! probably will have to take a loan out with the bank for some (some!) of the cost P.S. we already live together and have bought a home.... nobody is seeing my point of view...where I live there aren't too many places to have a ceremony and the places there are...it's not that great...it would be just an ordinary wedding nothing to talk about....I want something to talk about...and if anyone watches the video (www.southernoaksplantation.com) you will know what I mean. Also, most people spend around $5,000 for their wedding and then spend $5,000 or maybe less on a honeymoon....well we aren't going on a honeymoon. It was a petal-pink and black damask theme, with home-baked cupcakes, finger sandwiches, macaroons, and tons of coordinating details! For my own wedding, I'm doing it ALL myself. I designed and executed the invitations; an entire suite with pocketfold closure. I even made the pocketfolds myself! I'm making all of the BM gifts myself. I've already designed the floral arrangements and the rest of the paper products. And the wedding isn't until May! LOL Everyone tells me that I really have "a calling". It's something I absolutely LOVE doing, and I'd love to be able to make a living doing it. But I have no idea where to start... Should I call local planners and ask to shadow them? Wedding Guestbook help? I've been looking around for guestbooks for my wedding and the style I want seems to be very hard to find. Does anyone know where I can find a vintage-style book? One that has parchment looking pages with antique floral or calligraphy designs. If you've ever seen anything by Anna Griffin, it's kind of like that, but she doesn't offer guestbooks for sale. Co-Ed wedding shower problems with the bride-to-be.? I decided to have a wedding shower for my husband's cousin and his soon -to-be new wife. I let them know last year in October as soon as they announced their engagement that I wanted 2 have a co-ed shower for them. Problem is that NONE of the bride's family or girlfriends have planned any showers or parties for her and as a result the bride 2 be is wanting to invite ALL of her friends, family and everyone else in addition 2 the people that I had ALREADY planned to invite. I am related 2 the groom and do not know the bride or her friends.ALSO, no one else is offering to go in with me to be able to provide for the EXTRA guests or to go in and rent a banquet hall, since I had planned on hosting an at-home shower with about 30 people invited. I will be the sole one prepairing the food,decorations, designing the floral arrangements and everything in between. I feel very much taken advantaged of. Also, their shower date is in only a few short weeks away. Please guys,got any good advice 4 me? This could very well end up being a shower with well over 100 plus people coming to it. I feel the bride's family, her girlfriends/bride's maids should host their own shower as this was not meant to be such a big event on my part. The host of a wedding shower invites whoever they please to the shower and as bridal rules go neither the bride or groom are to be responsible for trying to invite people,planning or anything else. It is simply a small gathering hosted by someone willing to host it and not meant to be the BIG BASH for the entire group. Usually, more than 1 shower is had.

I need to choose a hairstyle to go with my halter top wedding dress.? I custom designed my wedding gown to get exactly what I wanted. It only cost me 150.00!!! Anyways, I have little less than a month to decide how to do my makeup and hair. I'm white French tipping my nails. I'm wearing pretty natural makeup, with the exception of black eyeliner. I'm making my bouquet with ribbon and glass beads, and other out of the ordinary non-floral oddities. Everything is completely white. Who is helping you out with your flowers? Are you coming up with the centerpeice design or are you letting a florist or floral designer help you?? My wedding planner just told me about a floral designer I can pitch my ideas to....has anyone else used a floral designer? davidica, that is so cool!!! are you going to collect them as you see them or go out and search for them. I love that idea. It could be something your and your sweety could do together which will make it all the more special!

Where can I find beautiful, unique necklaces for my 4 bridesmaids? I'm having a fall wedding and would like to give my bridesmaids each a necklace to wear during and after the wedding. They are wearing ivory tops with a espresso skirt and will be carrying a bouquet of all different colored fall flowers. I'd like to find something different for each of them, but with the same basic colors or themes. I especially like citrine or pearls and floral designs. Anyone have any ideas of where to look. My budget is kind of low...$40-$70 per necklace.

Wedding centerpiece ideas?? I want to do a floral centerpiece, but have no idea how to arrange it or how to design it. My colors are yellow, sage green, and bright peach, but they aren't really important, I just mostly need help with the concept of the centerpiece. I want something simple, yet classy. I'm going to college soon, but i don't know what kind of classes to take, what jobs would best fit me? I like taking people's ideas, and making them reality. Like movies, or writing books/short stores, or creating clothes, or designing posters/yearbooks or designing the looks of rooms. I've loved the idea of being a wedding planner, and coming up with floral designs or the look of a wedding all together. I also like the idea of computer animating, or something along the ideas with making movies. I don't know if it helps, but we were required to write a persuasive speech to our class, and present it. Is my sister using me? For a while when i didnt have a job, i helped my sister with her floral design stuff, like help set tables at wedding receptions, help with flowers etc. now i have a part time job and a full time job and staying busy, she still asks me to help her out. im like i would like to have a saturday off and hang out with friends, etc. im not trying to be mean, but why does she not just get a college kid to help her out or someone who likes that kind of stuff. seems like she only calls me when she needs help, never to hang out or anything, but shell hang out with my other siblings. im 25, shes 30, so were close to same age. my mom thinks she needs just to find someone who can help her all the time and not rely on me all the time, i do have a life and friends.

I make custom wedding bouquets out of artificial flowers for brides. They choose the colors, sometimes the flowers, and I personalize them with jewels, ribbons and various items of the brides choice. I'm looking to expand this more to reach more customers so my question is how can I advertise this more to receive more business? Any ideas?

cheap place to find bridal ivory colored tiara and/or veil?? Hi! I'm trying to find a cheap-ish, but pretty ivory tiara & veil. I'd really love to have some sort of floral design, with flowers and pearls or something with the tiara. Prefered not a big tiara..nothing too outlandish. I tried on, and fell in love with a tiara at Davids Bridal but it's $200 :( same thing with the veil! Looking for a veil that's about elbow length, two tier. She wasn’t happy with the floral arrangements. So she sued. In a breach-of-contract lawsuit filed Friday against Posy Floral Design Studios in New York state court, Elbogen alleges that the florist substituted pastel pink and green hydrangeas for the dark rust and green hydrangeas that she had specified for the centerpieces. Other issues, says the lawsuit: “using wilted and/or browned flowers, leaving the event without filling half the centerpiece vases with water, and using dusty and dirty vases.” Here are stories from the NYT and NY Post. “The use of predominantly pastel centerpieces had a significant impact on the look of the room and was entirely inconsistent with the vision the plaintiffs had bargained for,” says the lawsuit, according to the Times. They paid in advance for the flowers, which cost — yikes! — $27,435.14. After the wedding, they asked for a $4,000 refund. Now, they’re asking for $400,000 in damages.

How do you get your husband to agree on decorating your way? I'm into interior design and I desperately want to redo our bedroom and something more pastel. I want to do a lavender and yellow floral theme, since those were our wedding colors and also my two favortie colors but he said no! I was so disappointed about that. I don't see what the big deal is. I was thinking about doing it anyway when he goes out of town on his business trip at the end of the month, and then there would be nothing he could do about it. Which shoe do you like better/goes better with this outfit? Okay, so I'm really torn between which pair of shoes I should get for an upcoming wedding [on the beach in Florida]. Opinions on the centerpiece/ideas? Ok so for my second Hindu wedding that is being held in a covered tent in the backyard of his parents house. Number 1: could arrangements be done (without carnations) for 220 dollars for each? Number 2: is this going to look ok? Number 3: What kind of arrangements can be done, they have to match the red. I can't work with my florist that is doing the work for my larger wedding cause she is in NYC and this wedding is taking place far away from it, I don't really trust many of the florists around here so I would like to know what I want before I make deals with them. Vampire Prom, release party for Breaking Dawn... What should I wear? I want to dress like Bella in vampire form, but one problem.. I don't have anything to wear. I have a light blue ruffled mini skirt with blue, blue green, lime blue, and light blue polka dots that merge together. (Its not polka dots in lines or anything. They merge together so there's no empty spot.) And I have a pink mini skirt with dark pink and white flower designs. And then I have a white strapless dress with tiny black polka dots. It looks good on me, but its not the material I'd like. I'm not comfortable dancing in the material. (There's going to be dancing, not slow dancing... stuff for teens.) I could wear one of the mini skirts, but I'm.... overweight, so my thighs won't look so good, and I can't find any leggings that fit me from my sisters. Please help! How can I put something together that isn't floral or fancy... I was shopping earlier, looking for a plain colored dress with a strap/shash under my chest.
